The White House
My Dear Mr. President:
Over the last several
weeks I’ve been experiencing moderate to severe rectal pain. My thought was that it was caused by the
stress of all the crazy things you people in
It turns out that I
was right originally.
Sincerely yours,
The former RINO Republican Senator (now Democratic) Arlen Spector sent this answer to the above letter. And yet another answer from Senator Specter. Sometimes it's hard to relate the letter to your representative with the answer you get.
Congressman Jim Gerlach sent this answer. Neither recognized the tongue-in-cheek nature of the letter.

My Dear Mr. President:
I, for one, am tired of the lies. You may think that you’re fooling the American people but you are not. What lies am I talking about? Well, let’s name a few…
46 million people don’t have and need health insurance. Like any number that comes out of Washington this one is greatly exaggerated.
It will cost less money. Nobody could believe this. What government program ever cost less money?
Benefits won’t be cut. They will be. How else do you think you’re going to take $160 billion out of Advantage Care?
Care won’t be rationed. It will be and you know it.
It will be better than they have in Canada. It will be worse.
It will not be the same as the disaster that they have in England. It will be worse.
There won’t be death panels for the senior citizens. There will be. How else could it be with bureaucrats transferred from the post office and the IRS running the health care system? They’ll be telling me my wife can’t have a life saving operation because it’s not cost effective.
Federal funds won’t be used for abortions. You know they will be.
Federal funds won’t be used to assist people with suicides. It will be on a Medicare website and there will be mandates for medical practitioners to give people advice on assisted suicide.
Federal funds won’t be used for illegal aliens. It’s in the bills.
Medical research won’t be discouraged. It’s already part of the plan to reduce costs since new procedures usually cost more money.
You’ve read the bills being proposed and you know what’s in them. That’s the biggest whopper of them all.
Nationalizing the health care industry is constitutional. Of course it is not as even a casual reading will confirm.
Congress will be on the same health care plan as everybody else. Oh wait, you haven’t even bothered to tell that lie yet!
No more lies! Opposition to socialized medicine champions my freedom. Supporters of socialized medicine are enemies of my freedom.
Sincerely yours,

My Dear Mr. President:
Just so you know – just because I’m a senior citizen, doesn’t mean that AARP represents me. They may tell you that they are an organization of retired people but they are not. They’re just an insurance agency with socialist tendencies. The only representation that they do is for the insurance companies whose insurance they sell and get commissions on. They don’t represent any senior citizens. They certainly don’t represent me. Just so you know!
Sincerely yours,
I got a comprehensive response from Congressman Jim Gerlach on healthcare. He expresses he opposition to H.R. 3200 (and he voted against it). He also enclosed a copy of a summary of Medical Rights and Reform Act which is a bipartisan alternative to Pelosi-care. This at least addresses the issue of tort reform without which there can be no cost control. Isn't it strange that we didn't hear anything about this from the state sympathetic media?

My Dear Mr. President:
Let’s make a little comparison:
Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows – 784 pages
Gone With the Wind – 1472 pages
The Bible – 1567 pages
The Pelosi Healthcare Bill – over 2000 pages
You may have read the first three but I’ll bet you dollars to donuts that you haven’t read the last one. How can you support something that you haven’t even read and have no idea what’s in it? From the book reviews I’ve read this is terrible legislation. Don’t support it. Be the champion of my freedom not its enemy.
Sincerely yours,

My Dear Mr. President:
The problem is that it has not been shown that healthcare needs to be reformed. The phony reason being given in the state sympathetic media is that there are 46 million people who don’t have healthcare insurance and NEED it.
It might be instructive to examine just where that number comes from. Apparently it comes from the 2007 Census Bureau report where the given number was 45,700,000 people who didn’t have health insurance. Since these are statistical estimates, let’s assume that the range is 43,000,000 to 48,000,000. Let’s look behind the curtain…
So if are to believe the census bureau, the real number of people that don’t have health insurance and NEED it are between NONE and 14,000,000. Phrased another way, there may be no people that don’t have health insurance and NEED it. In the worst case there are 14,000,000 people. Hardly sufficient reason to socialize 16% of the US economy and ruin health care for the rest of us. No health care bill is what we really need.

My Dear Mr. President:
NO! BAD! STOP! BARNYARD BYPRODUCT!
Why do you hate people having jobs? You are supporting a bill that will cause untold harm and mischief for employers and employees alike. The program being considered will:
Who knows what other nonsense is in this bill. It’s ill-conceived, costly, and unbelievably invasive and will destroy our healthcare system. At a time when unemployment has reached record heights these measures will only result in more unemployment. Only an enemy of my freedom could support this measure. I urge you to be the champion of my freedom instead. Do not cast further favorable votes for this measure!
Sincerely yours,

Here's my letter on the cost of ObamaCare to the people of Pennsylvania. I posted this on my Facebook page on December 1st and had numerous comments. I also sent this letter to Senator Specter and Senator Casey but I personalized it for them.

My Dear Mr. President:
What a
thrill it is to be so ably represented in the Senate as we are in
Pennsylvania.
Wow! Both of our senators are supporting the ObamaCare “health reform” bill now
before the senate. If this bill passes, state taxes in Pennsylvania will have to be raised at least 5.2 %. This is the minimum but it could
be more. This is because of the increased unfunded cost liabilities. It’s been
estimated that by raising Medicaid eligibility above the current income cutoffs,
the increased state cost to
Pennsylvania will be $1,450 million. Isn’t that just dandy, an increase in federal
taxes AND an increase
in state taxes? The voters of
Pennsylvania
will just have to find some way to thank them.
Sincerely yours,
Here are three letters on ObamaCare. They raise three issues (1) it's hard on poor families, (2) it'll kill jobs and raise taxes and (3) it's terrible public policy.

My Dear Mr. President:
Have we noticed that employment is slow to respond? What could be causing that
do you suppose? Could it be ObamaCare?ObamaCare’s
employer mandate is especially punitive on poor families. Firms that hire an employee from a low-income family are charged a tax
penalty of $3,000. Worse, companies only have to pay $750 an employee instead of
$3,000 if one quarter of employees are low-income. This creates a situation
where, if a company has a lot of low-income workers, they can actually save
money by dropping their health plan. It should not be a surprise then that
employers are reluctant to add to payroll until they see what the future will
bring. We know that the way to prosperity is lower taxes and reduced government
regulation. So what is this administration doing? Just the opposite! They’re
raising taxes and vastly increasing government regulations. Merry Christmas to
all the still unemployed especially to low income families!
Sincerely yours,

My Dear Mr. President:
Have we noticed that employment is slow to respond? What could be causing that do you suppose? Could it be ObamaCare? This bill raises taxes by $370.2 billion over the next ten years with unemployment at 10.2%. Worse, the bill includes a job killing employer mandate which taxes companies for hiring people. Specifically, companies with more than 50 employees that do not offer a health plan approved by federal bureaucrats will be forced to pay a $750 per employee job tax. It should not be a surprise then that employers are reluctant to add to payroll until they see what the future will bring. We know that the way to prosperity is lower taxes and reduced government regulation. So what is this administration doing? Just the opposite! My Dear Mr. President:
Have we noticed that employment is slow to respond? What could be causing that
do you suppose? Could it be ObamaCare?ObamaCare
is terrible public policy for
small businesses even though it includes a
“small business tax credit” to
minimize the impact of the job killing employer mandates and regulation-caused
increases in private health insurance premiums. But, after all the
exclusions, the only eligible firms are those firms with 10 or fewer workers as
well as those with low-income workers—the least likely to offer coverage. It
should not be a surprise then that employers are reluctant to add to payroll

I finally got a letter from the president on healthcare. Now here's a surprise! He doesn't agree with me and my letters haven't changed his mind. Boy, I didn't see that coming!
Here's the latest on ObamaCare.

My Dear Mr. President:
The Senate has voted to keep the draconian cuts in Medicare Advantage in the ObamaCare bill. This is a major component of the plan to socialize medical care. Ruin health care and get the seniors who really need it the most to pay for it. I can’t imagine a more evil plan? The theory of the democratic senators may be that senior citizens will have died by the time they come up for reelection. As an alternative their theory might be that seniors, because they are old and senile, they won’t remember. Should either of these alternatives come to pass, my plan is to let my sons know about these events so that they can either vote in my place (Chicago politics) or remind me if I forget. How do you like them apples?
Sincerely yours,
